Helping · Giving · Growing

An American charity with the German spirit of community support.

"Liebe und Freundschaft ist ihr Name"

Love and friendship is our name - from the first song sung by Germania Männerchor in February, 1900.

An Indiana 501(c)3 Tax Deductible Corporation

Southern Indiana is rich in its German tradition and heritage. The Germania Männerchor celebrates these traditions throughout the year, but especially during Volksfest, the people's celebration. Generations of friends and families have gathered to enjoy the music and food of Volksfest.

The Germania Männerchor Foundation Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, was formed to provide support to our Southern Indiana communities through student scholarships, education of German history and ancestry, children's programs and German music education. Support of exchange programs and immersion studies are also included.

The Germania Foundation awarded its 2021 scholarship to Max Dezember, a Mater Dei graduate, on June 21, 2021.

Max is using the $1,500 scholarship to attend Murray State University where he plans to major in German and eventually become an ambassador.

Congratulations, Max!

Scholarship Program

The primary mission of the Foundation is to provide scholarship assistance to deserving high school students. Eligible college bound high school seniors, who will major or minor in German, may submit an application. A review committee will assess and rank applicants, with the highest ranking student being awarded funds to assist with their education.

The Germania scholarship program was started in 2003 by Mr. Harold Griese. Through his years of dedication to this project, sixteen scholarships totaling nearly $25,000 have been awarded to these deserving students.
